THINGS TO KNOW
I have numbered a few things in the novel that you may not know:
(1) Yin is the Yin in Yin and Yang, both are needed for balance
(2) The Forgetfulness River, or Wang Chuan (忘川), is a well-known river in Chinese folklore that erases the memories of the person who either drinks the water or falls in the river.
(3) An Asura, or A Xiu Luo (阿修罗), is a demigod in Buddhist folklore in which they have three heads and six arms.
(4) Master does not mean the relationship between owner and slave, but the relationship between teacher and student (disciple) For example, Chu Lei is Minyan's Master. (he is also Xuanji and Linglong's)
(5) Martial arts is widely known as the Chinese martial arts Kung Fu.
(6) The small red rattle is a Bolang Gu, a toy that many babies, toddlers and younger kids in China love to play. It is turned from left to right and vice versa with both hands, and the two beads on both sides create a rhythm.
(7) Mahua, also known as fried dough twist, is a Chinese snack that is fried in peanut oil.
(8)They are not actually related by blood, but by ties. In ancient China, people can become brothers and sisters if they agree to be loyal to each other forever. In this case, they are calling each other brothers to show respect.
